GoalBlog-300x300Do you know what you would like from the investment you make in social media or content marketing? I ask you this question because if you don’t know what your goal is, you’re going to find it very difficult to build a digital marketing strategy tailored specifically for your business.

It’s not enough to be using social media just because everybody else is and you don’t want to be left behind. Like every other aspect of your business you have to know specifically what your company’s goal is and that will allow you to build a plan to get there.

  • Would you like to build brand awareness?
  • Would you like to increase your website traffic?
  • Would you like to improve your search engine ranking?
  • Would you like to sell more products or services?
  • Would you like to provide better customer service?

It’s likely that your answer is yes to more than one of the above questions; it’s also likely that you may see a return on investment in more than one of the above areas, but of course that’s something you need to measure.

So once you set your goals make sure you have a baseline to work from. Ensure that your website has Google Analytics and be sure set up your Klout account.

Klout helps people who want to be great at social media. It allows you to measure your online impact. Klout defines influence as the ability to drive action. When you share something on social media or in real life and people respond, that’s influence. The more influential you are, the higher your Klout Score.
