So, in the U.K. the summer holidays are over and the new school year has started, which means it’s back to work for many of my clients. As I prepare for my first networking meeting this term, in Emsworth (not too far from Chichester) I thought I’d share three digital marketing tips to help you get top marks in business this term!
Make new friends – Do you remember those first scary moments when you walked into a new school or classroom? Then by mid morning break you’d made your new best friend just by finding that one thing in common. The same thing applies online… Connect with the people that have similar interests and passions to you. Your digital marketing success comes down to audience participation! So create a community of people who want to hear from you, because their values align with yours.
Clean out your pencil case – As a kid you’d always start term with a tidy pencil case, full of the tools that were going to help you succeed to A grades. I don’t know about you but a swanky new set of sharpies always helped me become more enthusiastic about education (actually I’m still a stationary geek). Remember your digital channels are the tools for your online success, so if you’ve let them get a little messy over time, a spring clean could be all you need to re-inject a little va va voom and inspire your digital marketing strategy. Does your website need a facelift, or even just a tweak of the copy here and there? Are all your social channels up to date and consistent with your branding? If not spend some time getting your pencils sharpened, lined up and on point!
Be diligent about your homework (or get somebody to help you!) – When you were at school did you always do the homework of your favourite subject first? In grown up land it’s easy to do the things we love about our jobs, but it’s even easier to let the things we don’t enjoy quite so much slide by the wayside. If digital marketing is not your thing let me help, I can become your study buddy. Together, we can plan a content strategy and execute it to perfection. Contact me to find out how I can help, I’m based in Chichester (U.K.) but work with clients throughout the world.
